Man Critically Wounded, Dog Dead in Overnight Shooting Incidents

A man and a dog were shot in overnight incidents in Rochester. Police say a 48-year-old city man is recovering after surgery and is in critical but stable condition this morning after he was shot in front of 339 Wilkins Street last night. No suspect is known so far.

And police are investigating after a man shot a woman's dog to death early this morning on Stanislaus Street. Officers found the suspect, who had a loaded handgun. They charged 38-year-old Nasaniel Rodriguez-Vazquez. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, but not with shooting the dog because it had previously bit him.
