Rochester Catholic Diocese Formally Served Sexual Abuse Lawsuits

Law firms representing people who say they were sexual abused as children say the Rochester dioceses has been formally served with lawsuits.

Lawyers with two firms say are seeking records about the alleged perpetrators and records that might point to coverups of allegations that surfaced years ago.

The diocese has twenty days to respond.

The suits are being brought under the state's Child Victim's Act, which temporarily suspended the statute of limitations for lawsuits based on old allegations.
