Child Sex Abuse Lawsuits Brought Against Catholic Diocese in Rochester

Attorneys are bringing at least 30 new child sex abuse lawsuits against the Catholic Diocese in Rochester.

The law firms of Jeff Anderson and Associates and Steve Boyd say the 19 alleged perpetrators include 10 being named for the first time -- two of them were nuns.

The statute of limitations for child sex abuse cases has been suspended for one year. That means cases from many years ago alleging abuse by the clergy, teachers and others, can now be heard in court.

The attorneys are demanding the diocese release all the names and whereabouts of every credibly accused priest who has worked in the Diocese.
