The Democrat who narrowly lost a race for Congress in the 27th District last fall, is running again.
Nate McMurray has announced his candidacy for the seat next year.
He is currently the town supervisor in Grand Island, near Buffalo.
Incumbent Republican Chris Collins has not said if he will seek another term. He is scheduled for trial in February on federal insider trading charges.
Two other Republicans have also announced their candidacies.
