Cuomo Signs Legislation Preventing Teachers from Carrying Guns in School

Governor Cuomo has signed even more gun control legislation.

One new law sets limits on who can be authorized by local schools to carry guns on school grounds. Teachers will not be allowed to carry. Only people employed primarily as school resource officers, law enforcement officers or security guards will be allowed to be armed.

Another new law directs the State Police to establish statewide regulations aimed at strengthening existing gun buyback programs and creating new programs.

Cuomo has signed gun control bills on three consecutive days this week.
