Gates Police have arrested the parent of a 13-year-old who was was carrying a loaded gun in a backpack.
According to police, the owner of the gun left his gun with the family while on vacation. The teen found the gun in a shoebox and carried it around for a week.
The teen faces charges in Family Court, and the parent has been charged with endangering a child for failing to carefully store for the gun.
