State Board of Regents Considers Ending Exam Requirement

The State Board of Regents is considering ending the Regents exam requirement.

Chancellor Betty Rosa plans to meet this fall with a committee that will review diploma requirements, graduation rates and college readiness.

Students in the state must pass four Regents exams to graduate, but the committee will look at other avenues for students to get a diploma.

It may be another year before the board votes on any changes.

Most states don't require exams to graduate.
