Gov. Cuomo Signs Legislation Making "Revenge Porn" a Crime

Governor Cuomo has signed a new law making publication of so-called "revenge porn" a crime.

Under the law, the non-consensual sharing or publication of an intimate image is punishable by up to a year in jail, plus civil damages.

The law protects victims when they allowed the images to be taken with a reasonable expectation that the images would remain private.

Victims will be able to seek a court order for the removal of images published online.
