Gov. Cuomo Signs Bill Mandating Equal Pay for Men and Women Soccer Players

Governor Cuomo has signed a bill that would mandate equal pay for men and women soccer players in New York. He signed it before the start of today's parade in New York City for the U.S. Women's soccer team.

The members of the U.S. women's team filed a class action lawsuit in March against their employer -- the United States Soccer Federation. They claim they are paid less than members of the U.S. men's team -- in violation of the U.S. Equal Pay Act.

Cuomo's bill would force the federation to pay women the same salary that men make when playing games in New York.
