U of R Eliminating Requirement for Standardized Test Results for Admission

The University of Rochester is rolling out a new policy that eliminates the requirement that first year students submit standardized test results when they apply for admission.

The University says it will now be optional for perspective students to submit test scores, and if they chose not to, they can be evaluated on high school grades, coursework rigor, essays, achievements, community contributions, recommendations, and interviews.

The new test-optional policy will be reflected in the application materials for the fall 2020 first-year class.

School officials say the admissions counselors will provide more information to high school counselors and potential applicants.
