Lake Ontario Max Set for Outflow of Water

The Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board says it has now boosted the water leaving Lake Ontario to its maximum level.

The board calls this the “L” Limit -- beyond which it would endanger shipping on the St. Lawrence River.

More than 360,000 cubic feet of water are being released each second from the international dam at Massena.

The international agency says it will keep Lake Ontario’s outflow as high as possible.
