NY Power Grid Operator say Grid is "Well-Equipped" to Handle Summer Demand

The operator of the power grid in New York says it expects there will be adequate electricity supplies for the summer.

The New York Independent System Operator says the grid is "well-equipped" to handle the predicted demand.

The state has more than 42,000 megawatts of power resources available.

Peak demand is expected to reach roughly 32,300 megawatts. That's still below the record set during a heat wave in 2013.
