Commitee Vote on Bill Allowing Illegal Immigrants to get Driver's License

The state Assembly transportation committee is expected to vote today on a measure that would allow illegal immigrants to get a New York driver's license.

If the bill clears the committee, a vote in the full Assembly could happen soon.

The legislation was blocked for years in the Senate when Republicans had the majority, but even though Democrats are in control now, there's no guarantee it will pass.

Governor Cuomo has made passing the legislation one of his top priorities before lawmakers leave Albany June 19th.
