Rochester Man Shot as Police Disperse Loud Party

A large house party on Fieldwood Drive in Rochester ended up with a shooting early Saturday morning.

Police say the party was loud and disruptive. As they began dispersing more than 200 people, some started throwing bottles at officers. More officers were called in to restore order, and while that was going on, they heard gunshots near their location.

Police found a 19-year-old city resident who'd been shot in the lower body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover.

Police dispersing the crowd arrested a man they saw drop a gun on the sidewalks. Eighteen-year-old Robert Baxter is an out-of-state man and is being arraigned in City Court on a weapons charge.
