Greece Man Ordered to Pay Restitution for False Tax Filings

A Greece man who was working as a tax preparer is being ordered to pay over 55,000 dollars in restitution after he was convicted of preparing and filing false tax returns for clients.

Federal prosecutors say Sedat Kaya prepared individual Income Tax Returns for hundreds of clients through his business Seneca Tax Services in Rochester.

An investigation by the IRS found that between 2012 and 2017, Kaya intentionally falsified information by including false or inflated expenses.

He was convicted of aiding and abetting in the preparation and filing of false tax returns and was sentenced to three years probation.
