AAA expects nearly 43 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles. Of those, 37.6 million will travel by car, that would be a record for the holiday and a 3-and-a-half percent increase over last year.
AAA says prices for gasoline are averaging about 12 cents less per gallon than last year.
