Senator Schumer is using prom and wedding season to push for federal rules for the limo industry. Right now there is very little that governs what goes on in a limousine.
A limo crash last October in Schoharie, NY killed 20. Schumer and some of the families are demanding the NTSB come up with standards that govern all stretch limousines.
Schumer is also calling for all stretch limousines to be classified as commercial vehicles, requiring limo drivers to carry a commercial driver's license and undergo extensive training.
