The Town of Irondequoit is moving forward with plans for its new community center at the site of the former Medley Centre mall.

The town will hold a July 30th referendum for Irondequoit residents, asking voters to approve borrowing of more than $7 million dollars to pay for the $8.5 million dollar project.
Seeley says the community center will be 43,000 square feet and will be developed next to the former Macy's. It will have a gym, a fitness center, community meeting rooms and more.
The town is also working with Skyview's management to provide space for the Irondequoit Police Department to use.
