Monroe County Democrats have appointed Sabrina LaMar to fill the vacant 27th District seat in the County Legislature.
She was sworn in yesterday evening. She succeeds Lashay Harris, who is now on the Rochester City Council.
LaMar is running for a full term for the seat, but faces a primary challenge next month from fellow Democrat Ebony Dukes.
Dukes objected to the appointment, saying the seat should have remained vacant until after the primary.
