Two People in Ontario County Charged After Puppy Thrown Against House

Two people are facing animal cruelty charges in Ontario County. Agents from The Ontario County Humane Society were called to a house in Hopewell on May 10. Investigators say Matthew Fowler, 19, of Canandaigua took a 10-week-old pit bull-boxer mix from the arms of Tianna Vanderwall, 19, and threw it against a wall. The dog, named Tank, suffered substantial pain and tenderness to one leg. Fowler and Vanderwall were charged with animal cruelty. Vanderwall was also charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. The Humane Society has custody of Tank.
