Lawmakers in Albany Considering So-Called 'Medical Aid in Dying' Bill

There will be another push this week in Albany for passage of the so-called "medical aid in dying" bill.

Advocates from across the state plan to gather Tuesday morning at State Capitol to express their support. The supporters say a recent survey of New York physicians showed at least 56 percent approve of medical aid in dying.

The New York Academy of Family Physicians once opposed the bill but now supports it.

A similar bill was signed into law last month in New Jersey.
