Governor Says Meeting With IJC Officials Unsatisfactory

Governor Cuomo says his staff met with the International Joint Commission over high water levels on Lakes Ontario and Erie...but he says the results weren't satisfactory.

The governor said they got a pledge to keep the state better informed about what the IJC sees coming and its plans for dealing with high water...but not a committment to keep levels at a point that protects lakeshore properties.

And Cuomo said Jane Corwin, named as a New York delegate to the commission, has not yet been seated.

Meanwhile, the state has mobilized 100 National Guard troops to help sandbagging shoreline properties and has deployed 70,000 sandbags to Monroe County alone to protect the shoreline.
