Schumer Sends Letter to Army Corps of Engineers Concerning Lake Flooding

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer wants you to know he is working on the flooding threat along the Lake Ontario shoreline.

He sent a letter today asking the Army Corps of Engineers office in Buffalo to stand ready to activate its Emergency Operations Center and assist communities that could see flooding.

Schumer says the lake level is only a foot below where it was at this time in 2017. It rose another foot and a half by June of that year and caused severe flooding.

And Schumer says rainfall has above average in recent days and the lake level is predicted to rise another 11 inches.
