Eye Care Center Employee Writes Fake Prescriptions, Over 5k Pills Obtained

A woman who worked at Cornerstone Eye Associates in Rochester, is facing federal charges for writing fake prescriptions for thousands of painkillers.

Shannon Lambert was charged with obtaining controlled substances by fraud. Federal prosecutors say between January 2018 and this February, Lambert illegally logged into an electronic prescription program and used it to issue prescriptions for drugs like Vicodin, Hydrocodone, and Oxycodone to herself and others who were not patients at Cornerstone. In all, Lambert is accused of writing 73 fake prescriptions for over 5,000 pills. She is due back in court next month.
