Rochester City School District Unveils Proposed Budget

The Rochester City School District is looking to cut more than 300 jobs in the next school year. The proposed budget would eliminate 194 teaching positions, 26 teaching assistants positions and 50 administrative jobs.

Enrollment in the school district has dropped by more than 25 percent since 2002.

The district plans to use $8 million from its savings account to balance the new budget

The school board will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget on April 2nd.
