The number of flu related deaths in Monroe County continues to rise.
The Monroe Co. Health Department says as of March 9th, ten people have died as a result of the flu.
According to the latest monitoring data, three of the fatalities were people in the 50-to-64 year old range. The remaining deaths were in people 65 or older.
There has been over 3,300 lab-confirmed cases of the flu this season -- with over 500 of those who came down with the flu needing to be hospitalized.
