The New York State Senate has approved legislation that would punish businesses that move their call center jobs out of the state.
Under the bill, those businesses would be prohibited from getting state tax breaks or loans, and the state could recover the incentive money that encouraged them to come to New York.
The legislation still needs approval in the state Assembly.
