Former Athletic Trainer Facing Federal Charges for Enticement of a Minor

A Conesus man is facing federal charges after authorities say he had an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl.

U.S. Attorney James Kennedy, Jr. says 30-year-old Austin Pratt has been charged with enticement of a minor and production of child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say the victim's parents notified State Police in January after finding several text messages on their daughter’s phone from Pratt, who worked as an athletic trainer at her school.

The victim had told investigators that Pratt began texting her in November about an injury, but they continued talking and exchanging nude photographs.

Pratt was also arrested in January by State Police for rape and criminal sex act.

State Police say Pratt was employed by Thompson Hospital and contracted out as an Athletic Trainer to the Geneseo School District.

The federal charges against Pratt carry a minimum of 15 years in prison, and a $250,000 fine.
