Former Rochester judge Leticia Astacio has confirmed she is running for City Council.
She tells News10NBC she doesn't think she will be convicted in her upcoming trial and doesn't think a conviction will hurt her chances of winning.
Astacio is running for the seat in the Northwest District. The deadline for petition signatures to get on the ballot is April 4. Her trial on charges she tried to buy a gun while on probation is set to start April 1.
Her sister, Felicia, is petitioning to run for the City Council seat in the East District.
