Families living close to the Thruway in Pittsford say the state should put up a barrier to protect their homes.
Last week, a truck on the Thruway lost an axle and the tires and debris landed in yards along Reeves Road.
News10NBC reports the axle smashed through a wooden fence and hit a home.
It happened in the middle of the night, but people living in the area say it could have happened any time of day -- possibly when kids are playing outside.
