Federal Agents: Palmyra Man Made Child Porn, Distributed Online in Europe

A Palmyra man is accused of making child pornography and distributing it in Europe. David Gfeller, 34, is charged with production, distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography. Investigators say police in Belgium discovered a series of pornographic images of a child in December 2017. Over the next year authorities in Germany, Italy, Portugal and France also discovered pornographic images. According to court paperwork, analysis of the metadata in the photographs led to the discovery of Gfeller's name.This month, Homeland Security agents worked with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to locate the house where the images were made. Investigators say they found photographs in Gfeller's house. Gfeller faces up to 30 years in federal prison, a lifetime of post-release supervision and a $250,000 fine if convicted and sentenced.
