Shortsville Woman Pleads Guilty to Grand Larceny, Over $24k Stolen

A Manchester woman has admitted stealing more than $24,000 from the Citizens Hose Fire Company in Shortsville. Wendy Wharton was treasurer at the fire company when she used the funds to gamble at casinos in the Finger Lakes and in Las Vegas. She pleaded guilty to felony grand larceny and has been ordered to pay back the money. If she fails to repay the money, she could go to prison for one to three years.
