Menswear Company Hickey Freeman Announces Expansion

Menswear company Hickey Freeman is making an $8 million investment to expand its business and add 80 more jobs in Rochester.

Several elected officials were on hand for the announcement, including U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer.

CEO Stephen Granovsky says the company will retool its factory, debut a new contemporary brand, and start making dress shirts. Shirt production in Rochester could start this summer.

Empire State Development is assisting with a $4 million loan that will be forgiven if the plant makes good on its hiring commitment.

Hickey Freeman has been in business in Rochester for 120 years.
