Cuomo Asks State Education Department to Investigate Binghamton Incident

Governor Cuomo has asked state police and the State Education Department to investigate allegations that four 12-year-old girls were strip searched for drugs at a Binghamton middle school.

The searches reportedly took place after the girls were described as 'hyper and giddy'.

The parents said the girls were strip-searched, but school officials say no strip search took place. The school says the girls had a routine medical assessment.

Cuomo says the treatment of the girls raises -- in his words -- "serious concerns of racial and gender bias".
