Man Who Assaulted Wyoming Co Sheriff Unfit to Stand Trial

A Castile man accused of attacking and trying to kill the Wyoming County sheriff has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.

Lynn Hall is accused of following Sheriff Gregory Rudolph in his car and attacking him, after getting him to pull over. Police say Hall also threatened Rudolph with a knife.

An off-duty trooper and two other bystanders were able to come to Rudolph's aid.

Officials say results of psychiatric exams found Hall is unable to understand the nature of the proceedings.
