Newly appointed Rochester City Court Judge Melissa Barrett is being sworn in today.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren appointed Barrett earlier this month to replace Leticia Astacio who was removed from office by the state. Barrett was the recommendation of a screening committee appointed by the mayor.
Mayor Warren will give the oath of office to Barrett at the Hall of Justice this afternoon.
