Rochester Fire Chief John Schreiber is retiring, and Mayor Warren has named deputy chief Will Jackson to succeed him.
Jackson has been in charge of the fire department's training division since 2016 and has been with the department for 22 years. His appointment requires City Council approval.
Schreiber has served the city fire department for 30 years.
