Whole Foods Developers Sue Assemblyman

The developers of the Brighton Whole Foods projects are suing  several people, including Assemblyman Joe Errigo and former Monroe County Democratic staffer Joseph Rittler, accusing them of trying to disrupt the project.

A federal court filing in Rochester  alleges that a bill introduced by Errigo was intended to "deprive the plantiff of property without due process of law.”  It's the same bill at the heart of a federal corruption suit against Errigo and others, accusing them of taking bribes to advance legislation taking away some local control over the project.

The lawsuit is seeking more than 650 thousand dollars in damages.

Errigo was arrested in October on bribery and wire fraud charges following the federal investigation.
