Gov. Cuomo Suspends Construction Lane Closures Over Holiday Weekend

With so many people on the roads for the holiday, Governor Cuomo has announced that lane closures for construction on roads and bridges, have been suspended.

Cuomo says construction projects will be suspended through Monday at 6 a.m. New Yorkers are also reminded that state and local law enforcement will be participating in an impaired driving enforcement campaign through the long weekend.

Cuomo also reminds drivers to follow the state's Move Over Law -- which requires motorists to slow down, and safely move over when approaching police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, tow trucks, and maintenance vehicles that are stopped on the shoulders.
