Regular Firearms Season for Deer and Bear Begins Tomorrow in WNY

The regular firearms season for deer and bear begins tomorrow in our part of the state. State officials are encouraging hunters to avoid shooting at the younger, small-antlered bucks so they grow to become larger bucks.

The season in the state's Southern Zone is expected to account for about 60 percent of the state's deer harvest, and 30 to 60 percent of the bear harvest.

The season ends December 9.
