New Flood Control Berm in Town of Greece

The Town of Greece is hoping a new flood control berm will help protect the shoreline near Edgemere Drive.

The earthen berm was built on the edge of Round Pond, which flooded the neighborhood for weeks last year when water levels rose in Lake Ontario.

The berm is 420 feet long and 2.5 feet high -- with a top elevation level of 250 feet. At its peak, the lake level rose to just over 249 feet last year.
