Volunteer Firefighter Seriously Injured Responding to Crash in Orleans Co.

State police have released the name of the volunteer firefighter who was seriously injured in a crash while responding to a call in Orleans County. It happened around 5:30 yesterday afternoon on Route 31 in Murray when police say Jared Thompson of Albion rear-ended a truck carrying grain to a silo. 

At the time of the crash, Thompson was driving a pickup and his blue lights were activated. The firefighter is a member of the Fancher Hulberton Murray Fire Company and was flown to Strong hospital. 

The crash is under investigation.
