MCSO: Two Vehicles Stolen from Penfield Gas Station Over Three Weeks

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two car larcenies at the Sunoco gas station on Plank Road in Penfield.

Authorities say on September 26th at 7:51 a.m. a man left his vehicle unlocked and running while he went into the store. When he came out, his car was gone.

On October 11th at 6:24 a.m. authorities say a similar incident happened. A woman went into the store, leaving her purse, wallet and cell phone in her car with the keys inside. When she came out she found her car missing. The vehicles were later found.

The Sheriff’s office says witnesses to both incidents described the suspect who took off with the vehicles as a black male, in his 20’s with a slim build. A photo of the suspect was captured on store surveillance cameras.

Authorities believe the suspect in each incident is the same person.

The Sheriff's office is asking anyone who has any information on either incident or similar incidents to call 911 or the MCSO tip line at (585) 753-4175.
