Retired Wyoming County Deputy Pleads Guilty to Murder

A retired Wyoming County deputy has pleaded guilty in connection with a murder earlier this year.

Joseph Mlyniec pleaded guilty yesterday to second degree murder in the death of Robert Irvine III.

Mlyniec had been accused of shooting and killing Irvine on March 7 in the Wyoming County Town of Perry, to prevent him from pursuing sexual abuse allegations against him.

Mlyniec will be sentenced next month to 15-years-to-life behind bars.
