PETA Offering Reward For Information Regarding Abandoned LeRoy Cat

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is hoping that someone who knows something about a cat that was left in a plastic box with no ventilation last weekend in LeRoy, will come forward.

Police say the long haired, male cat was found by a passerby around 8:30 Saturday morning, on the side of the road at the intersection of Munson and Gilbert streets. Authorities believe the cat had been there for 20 minutes, and surveillance footage shows a white pickup truck at the scene.

PETA says they are now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information should call LeRoy Police.

The cat, now named Munson, is currently at the Genesee County Animal Shelter.
