Judge Rules Porn Film Company Can Find who Illegally Downloaded Films

A judge says a company that makes porn films can demand internet providers help it find the people in our area who may have illegally downloaded the films and distributed them, in violation of copyright laws.

As first reported by "The Democrat and Chronicle," Delaware-based Strike 3 Holdings believes there are more than two dozen people in Western New York who pirated the films. The court ruling will allow the company to subpoena internet providers for information that tracks the suspected thieves.

The company is filing similar court actions around the country.
