Couple Arrested After 35-Mile Police Chase Ends in Rochester

A husband and wife from York are facing a number of charges after a lengthy car chase involving Livingston County Sheriff's deputies. Livingston County Sheriff's deputies said  it happened on Sunday around 7:05 a.m. Deputies said they spotted a car on Main Street in York being driven by 44-year-old Jason Torregrossa and they knew he did not have a valid driver's license. Torregrossa's license was suspended or revoked 34 times. He was also wanted on an active felony warrant out of Rochester. Deputies said when they pulled Torregrossa over he switched seats with his passenger 42-year-old Amber Torregrossa. Investigators said both refused to get out of the car. Deputies tasered Torregrossa, but he was reportedly able to remove it, got back into the driver's seat and sped away. A 35-minute pursuit ensued from York through Caledonia and into Rochester. Amber Torregrossa was charged with felony facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and felony second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Jason Torregrossa was charged with felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and several other vehicle and traffic law violations.
