Rochester Police Charge Man In Connection With Death of Daughter

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a 9-month-old baby in Rochester, back in January.

Rochester Police say Charlie Richmond was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Newark, NY yesterday, and was charged with first degree manslaughter in connection with the death of his daughter Arabella.

Police say officers had been called to a home on Culver Road on New Year’s Day, for an unresponsive baby. First responders performed CPR on Arabella, then rushed her to the hospital, where she died just days later.

Last month, the medical examiner’s office ruled Arabella’s death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

Police say Richmond has been arraigned and additional charges may be presented to the Grand Jury.
