Man Takes Guilty Plea In Canandaigua Homicide

A Canandaigua man has admitted beating and killing man he knew, then setting fire to the man's apartment.

Robert Clegg pleaded guilty to manslaughter and arson charges in the death last September of 21-year-old Nicholas Bice at the Camelot Square Apartments in Canandaigua.

Prosecutors say Bice was beaten with a flashlight during a robbery. The plea deal came just days ahead of a scheduled trial on a murder charge.

Clegg is scheduled to be sentenced October 17th and faces up to 35 years in prison.
