Senator Schumer will be in Orleans County today to promote legislation he says would address the opioid crisis.
He says the bipartisan bill creates a new federal grant program to help state and local police get new high-tech screening devices that can be used in the field to quickly identify dangerous drugs such as fentanyl.
The bill's name is an acronym -- POWER -- for Providing Officers with Electronic Resources. Schumer will speaking at the Village of Holley Police Department.
